Spring crafts are always a nice change of pace, and bunny crochet coasters are one of those small projects that feel both fun and useful.

They're quick to make, beginner-friendly, and a simple way to bring a bit of Easter charm to your table without committing to a large project.

These coasters are worked as a single piece, so there's no sewing involved, which makes the whole process feel relaxed and straightforward.

The bunny shape gives them a playful look while still being practical enough for everyday use. Whether you place them under mugs, teacups, or small glasses, they add a cheerful seasonal detail to your home.

They're also a great option when you want a small handmade gift.

A set of bunny crochet coasters tied with ribbon makes a thoughtful Easter present, and they're just as nice to include in spring gift baskets or as part of a small handmade kitchen set.

Because they work up quickly, you can easily make several in an afternoon.

Different pastel colors can give each bunny its own personality, making the finished set look bright and welcoming on a table, coffee station, or kitchen counter.

Why You'll Love This Pattern

  • Beginner-friendly and easy to follow
  • No sewing required, making the project quick and simple
  • Great seasonal craft for Easter and spring decorating
  • Small project that works up quickly
  • Perfect for making matching coaster sets
  • A thoughtful handmade gift idea
  • Easy to customize with pastel or spring-inspired colors

Materials Needed

Yarn

#2 light (DK, light worsted, 8ply) 100% cotton or cotton blend yarn with about 15 wraps per inch (WPI)*

  • You will be working with double strands. You can pick 2 yarn colors that compliment each other or 2 balls of the same color.
  • You will need about 0.30 ounces / 21 yards [8 grams / 19 meters] of yarn.

Hook

  • 4.5 mm (7) hook

Other

  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

*Wraps per inch (WPI) - this is a measure of yarn thickness. To measure WPI, count how many times the yarn wraps around a ruler in one inch. There are more wraps for thinner yarn and fewer wraps for thicker yarn.

Yarn and Hook Information

I recommend using cotton yarn for these coasters as it is more durable and can handle heat well.

You can also use thicker cotton yarn, such as #4 (worsted, 10 ply), just adjust the hook size accordingly.

If you do use #4 worsted weight yarn, you will not need to work double stranded.

The reason why I use 2 strands of #2 light cotton yarn is so that you can play with color variations by using complimenting strands of yarn. Or if worsted weight yarn is not available to you.

Skill Level

★☆☆☆☆ - Beginner

This is a great evening crochet project. It took me about 30 minutes to make.
