When Spring rolls around, simple paper crafts are a fun way to decorate your space or create small handmade gifts.

This easy origami bunny is a great example of how a few folds can turn a square of paper into something playful and seasonal.

This project begins with the classic waterbomb base, which is one of the most useful foundations in origami.

Once that base is folded, the easy origami bunny starts to take shape with just a few extra folds.

Adding small ears and a fluffy pom pom tail gives the bunny its personality and makes the finished craft feel extra special.

Because the folds are simple and the design is forgiving, the easy origami bunny works well for beginners or anyone looking for a quick paper craft.

It's also a nice project to make in batches since each bunny only takes a few minutes to complete.

Many people like using the easy origami bunny for seasonal decorating.

You can place them on shelves, tuck them into Easter baskets, use them as small table decorations, or attach them to gift tags.

Soft pastel papers make them perfect for spring, but bright or patterned papers can give each bunny its own look.

Step 7: Fold the left edge to meet the right edge, then unfold.

Step 8: Flip your paper over from left to right.

Step 9: Hold your paper on the left and right as shown. Gently press the paper in the centre where all the creases meet.

Step 10: Bring both the left and right edges of the paper inward. You will find the paper starts to collapse on itself.

Step 11: Continue to bring the edges inward and flatten to form a triangle shape.

Step 12: Fold the bottom left and right corners (top layer only) up to meet the top point.

Step 13: Fold both the inner left and right points in to meet the middle.

Step 14: Fold the top 2 points down to align with the folds you made in the previous step.

Step 15: Fold the same flaps out on a diagonal.

Step 16: Unfold previous step.

Step 17: Tuck both flaps (from step 15) into the small pockets found on both inner flaps.

Step 18: Flip your paper over from left to right and repeat steps 12 to 17.

Steps 13 to 18 for making an origami bunny.

Step 19: Fold the top point down to meet the middle. Crease well.

Step 20: Unfold previous step.

Step 21: Pick up your paper, you will see a small hole at the bottom. Blow through the hole to inflate your paper to form a cube. Once inflated, recrease along the edges as needed.

Tip: Use a straw to inflate your paper. You can use your mouth to inflate your paper, but don't press the paper to your mouth as the paper can become soggy.

Step 22: Using your scrap paper, cut out 2 ear shapes.

Step 23: Glue the ears to the front of your cube, and use craft glue or a hot glue gun to attach the pom pom to your cube on the opposite side (I like to place this over the hole).

Step 24: Using a marker, draw a face on your bunny. Completed rabbit.

Steps 19 to 24 for making an origami bunny.
