Skill Level

★★☆☆☆ - Beginner

Materials Needed

  • Standard Square Paper Napkins.
    • Recommended size: 6.5 inches x 6.5 inches (16.5 cm x 16.5 cm)

Instructions

Step 1: Typically, paper napkins come folded into quarters. Unfold your napkin and start with the color you want your napkin fold to be facing down.

Step 2: Fold the left edge towards the right slightly. We recommend at least 0.40 inches - 0.80 inches (1 - 2 cm).

Step 3: Fold the left edge to the right along the existing vertical middle crease line.

Step 4: Flip your napkin over from top to bottom. You still want the fold you made in step 2 to be on the right.

Step 5: Fold the bottom edge up to meet the existing middle crease line.

Step 6: Once again, fold the bottom edge up to meet the existing middle crease line.

Step 7: Fold the bottom edge up once again. The width of this fold and the following folds in the next steps will determine how wide your final napkin fold will be.

It is up to you how wide you fold your napkin up in each step. We recommend folding the bottom edge evenly spaced in both this step and the next steps.

As a guide, you could just fold the bottom edge up to meet the existing middle crease line to make a narrow napkin fold in this step. Then, use this as a guide for the next steps.

Step 8: Fold the bottom edge up once again, to your desired width. Then, continue to fold your napkin up until the bottom edge lines up with the top edge.

Step 9: Completed napkin fold.
