Candy corn might be one of those Halloween treats that people either get very excited about or mysteriously leave at the bottom of the bowl, but there's no arguing that it's an instantly recognizable symbol of the season.
This crochet amigurumi candy corn is a small stuffed Halloween project made with three colors to create the classic candy corn look. It's worked entirely in one piece, so there's no sewing involved, making it a quick and approachable project for beginner-intermediate crocheters.
The sample was made with worsted weight acrylic yarn and a 4.5 mm crochet hook, along with safety eyes and black thread for the facial features. Since the project uses relatively small amounts of yarn, it's especially handy for using up scraps left over from other crochet projects.
Although the traditional yellow, orange, and white combination gives it an instantly recognizable candy corn look, you can also have fun with different color combinations.
Shades of purple and white or different shades of green can turn the same basic idea into something a little different while still keeping it suitable for Halloween and fall decorating.
This crochet amigurumi candy corn gives you all the fun of the familiar shape without needing a trip to the candy aisle.
It's a quick stuffed amigurumi project that takes under 30 minutes to make and is worked entirely in one piece. No sewing little pieces together at the end means you can spend your time crocheting rather than trying to attach tiny bits and hoping they end up in the right place.

Why You'll Love This Pattern

- It's beginner-intermediate friendly. You can make something recognizable and seasonal without taking on a lengthy amigurumi project.
A Quick Halloween Scrap Yarn Project
Small seasonal projects are a great way to use up leftover yarn, and this crochet amigurumi candy corn is particularly well suited to it.
The sample uses worsted weight acrylic yarn in three colors. You don't need three full skeins, though. This is the sort of project where those small leftover amounts can finally earn their keep.

Emily's Notes
I really like small amigurumi projects for Halloween because you can make something seasonal without committing to a giant project that takes over your crochet basket for the next three weeks.
This one is especially handy for scrap yarn. You only need three colors, so it's worth having a rummage through your leftovers before buying anything new. You might already have exactly what you need hiding in there.
I also think the color variations are part of the fun. Traditional candy corn colors are great, but once you start looking at your yarn stash, it's hard not to wonder what a purple version would look like. Or green. Or a few different versions together.
And because there's no sewing involved, this is one of those projects where you can just sit down and crochet without mentally preparing yourself for the finishing stage.
Finished Size

The finished size of this crochet candy corn is about 4 inches (10 cm) at its widest and 4 inches (10 cm) tall.

Crochet Tips, Yarn Choices, and Color Inspiration
Choose Three Colors That Work Together
The classic candy corn palette is an easy starting point, but this project gives you plenty of room to experiment.
Traditional yellow, orange, and white will give you the familiar candy look. For Halloween, try shades of purple and white, or experiment with different shades of green.
The important thing is that your three colors have enough contrast to make the different sections easy to see.
Have Your Safety Eyes Ready
Since this is a stuffed amigurumi project with facial features, have your safety eyes ready before you begin.
It's much easier to keep everything together when your supplies are sitting beside you rather than discovering halfway through that the tiny eyes have disappeared into the depths of your craft supplies.
Keep Your Stuffing Nearby
You'll need stuffing for the amigurumi construction, so have it ready before you start.
Because this is such a quick project, there's really no reason to turn a 30-minute crochet make into a 45-minute treasure hunt for your stuffing.
Crochet Amigurumi Candy Corn Color Variations
You can keep the traditional candy corn look or make your own Halloween-inspired version.
Classic Candy Corn
Yellow, orange, and white create the familiar candy corn appearance and make the finished piece immediately recognizable.
Purple And White
Different shades of purple paired with white give you a more obviously Halloween-inspired color palette. Try a deep purple for a spooky look or combine lighter and darker purples for more variation.
Shades Of Green
Green can give your candy corn a fun, slightly unusual look. Different shades of green paired with white can work particularly well as part of a larger Halloween display.
A Whole Mix Of Colors
Making several candy corn pieces gives you an excuse to try different combinations. You could make a traditional version alongside purple, green, or other colors already sitting in your yarn stash.
