If you're looking for a mini rectangle crochet pouch that's quick to make and doesn't involve any sewing at the end, this is one of those satisfying projects that feels almost too simple for how useful it is.

It's worked in one piece, which means fewer joins, less finishing, and a much cleaner workflow from start to finish.

This crochet gift card pouch is especially good when you want something small but intentional.

It's the kind of make that turns a simple gift card into something that feels more thoughtful and handmade, without adding hours of extra work.

The built-in handles make it practical straight away, so there's no need to attach straps or worry about assembly.

Because it's a structured rectangle, this mini crochet pouch pattern is also really beginner-friendly.

It's quick enough to batch-make for holidays or events, but still feels personal because it's handmade and functional.

It also works really well for scrap yarn, especially if you like making coordinated sets in different colours.

Why You'll Love This Pattern

  • This mini rectangle crochet pouch is completely no-sew and worked in one piece
  • Built-in handles mean no extra assembly or finishing steps
  • Perfect for gifting gift cards in a more thoughtful, handmade way
  • A great small giftable crochet project for holidays, birthdays, or events
  • Beginner-friendly with simple rectangle shaping
  • Quick to make and ideal for batch projects
  • Uses minimal yarn, great for scrap busting
  • Functional design you can actually reuse for small items

Materials Needed

Yarn

  • #3 Light (light worsted, DK, 8ply) acrylic yarn, with about 14 wraps per inch (WPI)*
    • You will need about 0.28 ounces, 24 yards (8 grams, 22 meters) of yarn.

Hook

  • 4.5 mm (7) hook

Other

  • Stitch Marker (optional)
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle (for weaving in ends)

*Wraps per inch (WPI) - this is a measure of yarn thickness. To measure WPI, count how many times the yarn wraps around a ruler in one inch. There are more wraps for thinner yarn and fewer wraps for thicker yarn.

Skill Level

★☆☆☆☆ - Beginner

Time estimate: It took me about under 40 minutes to make one bag.

Yarn and Hook Information

100% cotton yarn works great for gifts, but acrylic or acrylic blends work just as well.

If you are using a different yarn weight, make sure to use an appropriate hook size for the yarn you are using.
