If you're looking for something a little more detailed than a basic square, this daisy granny square crochet pattern is a great step forward.
It combines a classic granny square base with a simple flower center, giving you a finished piece that looks more intricate than it actually is.
This type of square is especially popular for spring and summer projects, but it's flexible enough to use year-round depending on your color choices.
Soft pastels create a lighter look, while bold or earthy tones can completely change the feel.
Another reason this daisy granny square crochet pattern stands out is how versatile it is. You can make a single square for a small project, or build multiple squares into blankets, tote bags, cushion covers, or even wearable pieces. Once you get the hang of the pattern, it becomes an easy repeat that's ideal for batch-making.

Why You'll Love This Pattern
- Creates a detailed floral look without complicated techniques
- Works well for both small projects and larger builds like blankets
- Easy to customise with different color combinations
- Great for seasonal projects, especially spring and summer
- Repetitive once learned, making it ideal for batching squares
- A nice step up from basic granny squares without being overwhelming

Yarn
- #3 Light (light worsted, DK, 8ply) acrylic yarn, with about 14 wraps per inch (WPI)*

FAQ
Yes, it's beginner-friendly, though it may feel like a small step up from basic granny squares due to the flower detail.
Both cotton and acrylic work well-cotton for structure and acrylic for a softer finish.
You can use slip stitch, whip stitch, or join-as-you-go methods depending on your preference.
Blocking isn't always necessary, but it helps create even, flat squares for larger projects.
