If you're looking for a crochet pumpkin bowl that's simple to make but still looks like a proper seasonal piece, this is a great project to add to your fall rotation.

It's shaped like a soft, textured pumpkin bowl, making it perfect for holding treats, small gifts, or even just sitting as cosy autumn décor.

This crochet pumpkin bowl pattern is especially useful if you like making small, giftable crochet projects that feel seasonal without being complicated.

It's beginner-friendly in construction, but still gives you that satisfying "finished handmade home décor" look.

What makes this crochet pumpkin treat bowl so practical is how versatile it is.

You can use it for Halloween sweets, party snacks, or even as a little catch-all bowl for keys or small items during autumn.

It's the kind of project that works just as well in real life as it does as décor.

Because it's a structured-yet-soft shape, this beginner crochet pumpkin bowl also works really well as a stash-buster.

You can play with different shades of orange, experiment with texture, or even go more neutral for a modern fall look.

Rows 5 - 25: Repeat rows 3 and 4, alternating. If you want a bigger bowl, you can continue alternating between rows 3 and 4.

Tip: make sure you end on an odd row (your last stitch should be a dc), and you end at the top of the bowl (the wider part of the bowl). This will make it easier for sewing the sides and cinching the bottom of the bowl together.

After row 25, FO leaving an extra long tail for sewing. [14 sts in each row].

Join the two short ends of the bowl so the edges match. Then, using the long tail you left for sewing, sew the short edges together.

Next, using a running stitch, weave the yarn through the bottom edge of the bowl, then pull tight on the tail to close the bowl. FO, weaving in any ends.

Rows 1 to 25 and cinching the bottom of the pumpkin bowl.

Making the stem

You will be working in continuous rounds.

Round 1: Col C, make a magic ring, ch1 (doesn't count as st), 6 hdc into ring, pull tail tight to close ring. [6 hdc].

Round 2: 1 hdc in each st around. [6 hdc].

Rounds 3 - 4: 1 hdc in each st around. [6 hdc in each round].

Round 5: 1 sc in each st around, sl st into 1st sc to join. FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Weave in starting tail. Do not fill with fiberfill.

Making the leaf and tendril

The tendril and leaf are made as one piece.

Col B, ch10, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 tr in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 sc in next st, rotate your piece because you will now be working along the bottom of the chain, 1 hdc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 tr in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 1 sc in next st, sl st into 1st sc to join.

This is the completed leaf, DO NOT fasten off, you will now be making the tendril.

Ch10, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in each ch across, sl st into 1st sc of leaf to join. FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Steps for finishing a crochet pumpkin bowl.

Finishing

Row 1: Join Col B to any st along the top edge of the bowl, ch1, 1 sc in each st around, sl st into 1st sc to join.

Row 2: Ch1, 1 sl st in each st around, sl st into 1st st to join. FO, weaving in any ends.

Thread the yarn tail from the stem onto a needle, then sew along the top edge of the bowl in a position you like (I like to sew the stem so it sits slightly upright).

Next, sew the leaf and tendril so that it sits next to (or slightly overlaps) the stem. FO, and weave in any ends.
