Yarn

Acrylic Yarn (Jumbo, Roving) with 3 Wraps Per Inch (WPI)*

  • You will need about 12 ounces (365 grams) of yarn

Hook

  • 15 mm hk (P/Q)

  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

*Wraps per inch (WPI) - this is a measure of yarn thickness. To measure WPI, count how many times the yarn wraps around a ruler in one inch. There are more wraps for thinner yarn and fewer wraps for thicker yarn.

Stitches and Abbreviations - US Terms

  • Ch - Chain
  • Tr - Treble Crochet
  • St/s - Stitch/es
  • FO - Fasten off
  • [ ] at the end of each row indicates how many stitches there should be in that row.

How to Treble Crochet

Step 1: Yarn over twice, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop (4 loops on hook).

Step 2: Next, yarn over and pull through two loops (3 loops on hook).

Step 3: Then, yarn over and pull through two loops (2 loops on hook).

Step 4: Yarn over and pull through remaining loops (1 loop on hook).

Gauge

Finishing

Using the long tail for sewing, thread it onto a yarn needle. Join the short ends of the scarf together, lining up the rows. Make sure the scarf lays flat and is not twisted before you join.
