Some projects just instantly feel cheerful - and this chubby amigurumi chicken is one of them.
It's round, squishy, slightly ridiculous in the best way… and you can make one in an evening without sewing a single piece on at the end (well, apart from the beak!)
If you've ever avoided amigurumi because you don't love attaching tiny wings, you're going to appreciate this design. Everything is crocheted as you go, so there's no pile of parts waiting for assembly. That makes it ideal when you want something fun and low-effort.
It's also a proper scrap buster.
A small amount of yellow (or white, or speckled!), a tiny bit of orange for the beak, maybe a contrasting comb - done. These little chickens are perfect for Easter baskets, Spring table decor, kids' gifts, or even market makes.
If you're looking for a quick amigurumi project that feels seasonal without being complicated, this chubby amigurumi chicken is a lovely choice.
